This is really wonderful. A few times I had seen the 1932 Joan Crawford version called Rain and even tho Crawford hated it, I thought it was terrific. Now we have the restored 1928 original - silent. It could have been a talkie but Swanson nixed that idea. She was exec producer and it was her production company and she felt the material would be better in silent mode. She is wonderful and now I am trying to feast my eyes on all her silent films that have survived. You would swear we were in the South Seas and I won't give it away where it was really filmed. Barrymore was superb as well.
